The Origins Of A Hobby
(And the beginning of an obsession)

Here is a picture of my Grandpa & Grandma, David & Ruby Triebner.  They were married on August 17, 1940.  The hobby that now runs 3 generations deep started with them.  In the mid 1970's grandpa and dad went to a show in Jamestown Ontario.  They also stopped at a collectors home after the show to see his collection.  Dad thought it would be nice to own just one engine.  He bought an International LA (yes an LA, but look what that started!!)   Grandpa took a keen interest in the engine, and after that grandpa and grandma went to a nearby auction, and grandma found a hit and miss engine which they later bought.  They took it home and dad was ecstatic. Hit and Miss engines are so much more fun than throttle governed, and the hobby took off from there.

Here are a few pictures of Grandpa and his engines.
