Our dear friend JB came in handy again.  The cylinder was badly pitted up front across the entire bottom half.  It had been nearly half full of water for probably as long as it sat.  Stooge #3 rigged up the wheel and shaft you see to run a cutter around and smooth off all the high spots.  While the engine sat the hot tube was off which allowed the water in.
