Our Bruce Macbeth engine came from the city of Bellevue Ohio. There it was the backup water supply for the city from the early 1930's until the mid 1970's when it was placed outside under the water tower. In 1996 the city auctioned off the engine, and we had the highest bid. The retrieval, and restoration began in April 1996. The engine ran for the first time in over 20 years in June of 1999.
The following pictures were taken durind and after the restoration:
A New Home - Brucie after his first trip to Canada.
Proud Papa - Someone has a new toy!!
The Next Load - Back to Fremont for more parts.
The Logic - Why would anyone buy this??
The Head - A close up of one of the SMALLER parts.
Repairs - The bigger they are, the more there is to clean!!
The Bottom End - Brucie's governor and crankshaft.
Ready, Willing, And... - Could this engine be ready to run??
Able!! - Running for the first time in 20 years.
Running Still - Stretching his legs all afternoon didn't tire Brucie out.
Break Time - Waiting inside for another start.
